Justin Rose is at the top of the golf world, yet again ranked the number one player in the world. The way the golf rankings work, he’s in fact been in and out of the number one spot many times. This is his fourth time since last February that he’s been the number one player.
With so many changes in the rankings it is hard to tell who is really the best player.
Rose certainly deserves to be on top. He’s played well all year, winning two worldwide tournaments, placing in the top 10 in 13 others. Even better, he finished 10 tournaments in the top five.
Koepka is another player who has been in and out of the top spot recently. He won both the U.S. Open and the PGA Championship, not to mention a win at South Korea’s CJ Cup. He had fewer top 10 finishes than Rose, with only seven, but he played very well last year considering he was out at the beginning of 2018 with a wrist injury.
Johnson started 2018 as the number one, and regained the title a few times over the year. He had 10 top 10 finishes this year, putting him in between Rose and Koepka. This could be another good year for Johnson, as he has the Mexico Championship and the Riviera coming up; he’s played well in both tournaments in the past.
The number one spot is bound to change more throughout the year. Let’s see if we can beat another record in 2019.
